Google Honors Singer KK with Doodle on Bollywood Debut Anniversary
On October 25, 1996, Krishnakumar Kunnath, fondly known as KK, began his Bollywood journey with the song “Chhod Aaye Hum” from Maachis, a milestone honored by Google with a special doodle today.
Born on August 23, 1968, in Delhi, KK attended Kirori Mal College and initially worked in marketing. His musical path began in 1994 with a demo tape that led him to perform commercial jingles. KK’s official Hindi cinema debut came in 1999 with “Tadap Tadap” from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, followed by his first album, Pal, featuring iconic tracks “Pal” and “Yaaron,” which became heartfelt anthems for farewells and graduations.
Over three decades, KK recorded 3,500 jingles and over 700 songs across multiple languages, including Hindi, Telugu, Bengali, Kannada, and Malayalam, making a lasting impact on Indian music.
